Shireen, an upcoming heroine in the Tamil industry, made her presence felt as an item girl in the Vikram-Trisha starrer Bheema, the Telugu version of AM Ratnam's film. The movie is going to be released sometime soon and Shireen was in town recently as part of the movie's promotion. Born to a Persian father and a Telugu mother, she speaks the Chittoor dialect of Telugu perfectly. Shireen is still new to the industry and needs to figure out the difference between a guest role and an item role. Shireen claims that she played a guest role in Bheema. She declares, "I will never do an item song in Telugu. I am ready to do guest roles." Her mom Yashoda too chips in: "Shireen did this guest role (meaning item song) in Bheema out of regard for Ratnam. She will not do the same in Telugu."

• This is the second time Vikram has been paired opposite Trisha. Their last film together, Saamy was a tremendous hit.


• Sherin who has acted in movies like Thulluvadho Ilamai and Whistle will be shaking her legs with Vikram for an item number in the movie.


• Katrina Kaif was considered for the role of the leading lady of this film.


• Nana Patekar walked out of the project after originally being picked.


• The title of this film was taken from the name of the heroic warrior Bhima, a character from The Mahabharata.


• Vikram has called upon the services of former Mr Tamil Nadu Rajendran to help him in his training to look more the part for Bheema.

Shooting of Vikram's 'Bheema' has ended and is now ready for release. But it looks as if the film still has lots of problems to deal with. AM Rathnam had produced the film. On the day of the launch itself he had managed to sell the film at fabulous prices to distributors. He also had collected a very decent sum from them as advance.
But Mumbai-based Adlabs has now paid the entire expenses to Rathnam and has bought the film. With that trouble began for Rathnam.
The distributors who had paid him advance money for the broadcast rights now want him to either refund their advance or give distributorship rights to them. They say that if he fails to oblige, they'd see to it that the film doesn't hit the theatres at all. Rathnam doesn't want to take this threat lightly because his long-term reputation is at stake here.
Adlabs, owned by Anil Ambani, is very angry with Rathnam when they found out that he had already sold the rights to others and had cheated them by selling the rights to them too at an exorbitant price...

Bheema Music Review

After Aparichitudu, Harris Jeyaraj and Vikram have come together once again and the past triumph plays a pivotal role in increasing the expectations on this album. In the south indian film industry, Harris Jeyaraj has a strong place and is steadily climbing the ladder of success. His tunes have proved themselves over and over again and in Bheema too, he has not disappointed his fans.
1) Oka Mukhamu When the song is finished we are quite satisfied and our hand automatically pushes the rewind button to hear it again. The "jagajom jajoom" phrase catches on to you unawares. Krish and Naresh Iyer impress with their dynamic approach to the song. Harris has made sure of the visual recapitulation of Vikram just by listening to the song which is a great achievement for any music director.
2) Paruvapu Vaana This number has the Harris Jeyaraj stamp all over. Over the years, he has made it a habit to come up with simple tunes and beats but strong enough to mesmerize the audience. Hariharan and Mahathi are sure to captivate the listeners. But music lovers will definitely find some similarities from some of the other music compositions and more so a striking resemblance to A.R.Rahman's tune for the movie Kabhie Na Kabhie. Nevertheless the song does leave an impact which matters a lot.
3) Rangu Rangamma A song which leaves a deja vu feel and Kailash Kher does complete justice to this number. Generally known for his pathos numbers, he has tried for a different mood this time and has emerged successful. Kailash should take care of his pronunciation though. Vijay Yesudas and Swarnalatha have done a decent job.This song will strike a chord due to the beat and tempo where the flute is utilized to the optimum.
4) Rahasyapu KalaleClearly the pick of the album. The lyrics are aptly supported by crystal clear rendition of Hariharan and Madhushree. Sure to stay on the top of the charts for a long time. Repeated hearing does only make it better each time which is indicative of a super hit song that impresses you right from the start to the end. A thorough professional use of instruments by Harris Jeyaraj.
5) Kanu ChoopulaThis track would definitely make A.R.Rahman proud. Harris has done an AR and does a good job at that. Superb use of the instruments once again. Karthik and Harini excel in the vocal department. Afghan words sprinkled in the middle of the song are Rahman's forte which has been followed by Harris too but he needs to hone his skills in this department. Still, a very good attempt. This folk-based love song is sure to find patronage after repeated hearings.
6) O ManasaThis song is a slow duet and John Mathew, the new singer has made his debut accompanied by Chinmayi, Sadhna Sargam and Sowmya Rao. The lyricist must have enjoyed his work while writing this song which clearly shows. However, Harris could have used a different path instead of the same one and if the song makes it, it is mainly due to lyrics and rendition.
Overall the music is simply superb and Harris has once again proved his mettle with six numbers which are sure to be lapped up by all the music lovers in the coming months.

Bheema Telugu audio finally released!!

Pawan Kalyan is the centre of attraction at the audio release function of Bheema, the latest film of Vikram and Trisha in the direction of Linguswamy for Surya Movies banner. SPR Entertainments is presenting the film in Telugu. The event was held at Prasad Multiplex, Hyderabad. Powerstar released the audio cassette and presented the first number to hero Vikram. He also released the CD and the numbers were given to all those present on the stage. Harris Jayraj composed music, while lyrics were penned by producer AM Ratnam. Aditya Music is marketing the music in Telugu. The dignitaries who took part in the music release were Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Dhil Raju, Arjun Raju, Bogavalli Prasad, NV Prasad, Sanam Naga Ashok Kumar, ML Kumar Chowdary, Boyapati Srinu and some of the technicians and distributors. Shareen, who plays one of the female leads in Bheema also graced the function. Pawan Kalyan, wearing a casual dress, straight came from a shooting spot (Jalsa) and became the chief guest of the evening. After releasing the music, he as usual spoke a few words. "I usually do not attend or speak in these kind of functions. AM Ratnam is a good friend of mine. He came up in life with hard work and dedication. Vikram and Linguswamy combination will surely become a hit. I wish the unit the very best", said Pawan Kalyan. AM Ratnam expressed his special thanks to Pawan Kalyan for being the chief guest in spite of his busy schedules. "We are working on Bheema for over an year by now. It is a very interesting and at the same time a difficult subject. Vikram is our major strength. Harris Jayraj's music is another asset. Linguswamy has done his best. I am confident of the success of the film both in Telugu and Tamil", said AM Ratnam. He congratulated Pawan Kalyan for starting his Common Man Protection Force for the upliftment of socially underprivileged. "The organization will soon become a mighty force", he maintained. Hero Vikram said: We all worked with dedication and concentration. Linguswamy's story and narration enthralled me a lot, and I decided to do it immediately.
